AdBlue® by BASF
AdBlue® by BASF is a high-purity urea solution (32.5%) used in diesel engines with SCR technology to reduce harmful emissions, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

How does AdBlue® work?
-
AdBlue® by BASF is a high-purity aqueous urea solution (32.5%) used in diesel engines equipped with SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. When injected into the exhaust gases, the urea breaks down into ammonia (NH₃) and carbon dioxide (CO₂). The ammonia reacts with NOx in the SCR catalyst, converting them into nitrogen (N₂) and water vapor (H₂O), both harmless and naturally occurring in the atmosphere. This process significantly reduces harmful emissions, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Reduced fuel consumption and consistent engine power.
-
The combination of SCR catalysts with BASF's AdBlue® requires higher engine temperatures to increase exhaust gas temperatures, making the reduction of NOx by AdBlue® more effective. This results in greater fuel efficiency, less unburned fuel, and fewer soot particles in the exhaust gases, without affecting engine power.
AdBlue® by BASF – Ready for the Future!
-
AdBlue® by BASF is an innovative solution for reducing exhaust emissions, striking the perfect balance between environmental responsibility and economic efficiency. Compliant with all EURO IV, V, VI, and future regulations, AdBlue® by BASF is the ideal choice to meet the environmental challenges of tomorrow.

AdBlue® ZeroPCF
by BASF
What's AdBlue ZeroPCF By BASF?
AdBlue® ZeroPCF by BASF is the first and only AdBlue® on the market with a reduced carbon footprint:
-
AdBlue® with a certified product carbon footprint of less than 0.05 kg CO₂ per kg of AdBlue®.
-
AdBlue® ZeroPCF by BASF helps customers reduce their CO₂ footprint.
-
PCF certification by TÜV and mass balance according to REDcert2.
This value includes the amount of CO₂ emitted in connection with the product during production up to the site’s exit gate (“cradle-to-gate”). The market standard for fossil-based products in Europe is 0.4 kg per kilogram of AdBlue®.
How is AdBlue® ZeroPCF by BASF produced?
To achieve this reduction in carbon footprint, BASF uses renewable energy and sustainable raw materials through a mass balance approach. This method allows for the accounting of renewable resource usage within the production process while maintaining the quality and chemical properties of the final product.
